Courses in Meditation & Mindfulness
Many students are keen to dive deep into meditation and mindfulness with a course over several weeks or months. This is such a beneficial way to gain some traction in your practice, but so often the timing of the course doesn't coincide with work or other obligations. Let's remove that hurdle.
Starting in September 2018 I will be offering individually designed courses that fit your schedule, interests and experience level perfectly. If you are intrigued how this may work for you, simply use the contact form below.
Do you have more questions than can fit in the comment box below? Then please call me to get together for an informal chat and a cuppa: 0406 560 594 Don't hesitate...I love to talk about meditation!
Special Event Workshops
Connecting with Wisdom & Compassion Sunday, September 16th, 2018 at Ekam Yoga Festival in Bonny Hills, NSW In the practice of meditation, like a bird, we need two wings to fly. The wing that balances wisdom is compassion. Having one without the other doesn’t quite grasp the fullness of the practice and one cannot truly soar without equal cultivation of both. Wisdom allows us to experience honestly our hearts and minds, and ultimately the nature of reality. Compassion acknowledges our deepest connection to everyone and everything, cultivating an open heart to the suffering of others. Combined, wisdom and compassion create a perfect balance between stillness and movement, emptiness and fullness, and inward seeking and outward giving.
In this session, through discussion and guided meditation, you will learn how to cultivate these two potent qualities for enriching your meditation practice and deepening your connection with yourself and others.
Meditation in Times of Change Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at Yamba Yoga Festival in Yamba, NSW Quite often we pickup or renew a meditation practice during times of challenge and change. This session will introduce you to tools from the Vipassana tradition to help you work skillfully to face whatever is present with courage, compassion and equanimity. A short sitting meditation, as well as a longer empowering guided meditation will be intertwined with a discussion of Buddhist philosophy. Suitable for everyone and all abilities.
More Workshops Coming to Woolgoolga & Sandy Beach in 2019.
Lynn Montgomery, MA of Blue Lotus Insight It has been my great, good fortune over the past 30 years, to learn and practice with ordained meditation masters all around the world. I spent 10 years as a student of Zen at Green Gulch Farm in California and for the past 15 years my Vipassana practice has been guided by Bhante Yasala of Santipada Monastery in New Zealand.
I have completed numerous meditation retreats, ranging from 10 days to 5 months in length. I have also had the honour to edit two manuscripts on Insight Meditation techniques and the Psychology of Mindfulness for the Sati Arama Centre in South Korea.
Since 2000 I have been practicing holistic healthcare, working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve a balanced body and mind through Zen Shiatsu and Oriental Medicine. Blue Lotus Insight is the natural extension of this work to a small group setting, focusing on the mind. The classes, workshops and products I offer are my endeavour to honour these gifts, share my experience and support others in their journey to greater peace, happiness and insight.
